This award celebrates the very best in sports turf management at cricket clubs across the UK. It recognises grounds people who are at the top of their profession, delivering impeccable playing surfaces for first class and international cricket.
Who can enter?
This category is open to all grounds teams at venues that host events with paying spectators attending. This must include a minimum of at least one First-Class fixture, List A or National County men’s or women’s fixtures. Individuals, in-house teams, volunteers, local authority, and contractors can enter/be nominated.
Entry / Nomination criteria:
Teams can enter or be nominated by an employer or manager. The award is judged taking into account the 12 months prior to the award category application submission date.
Judging Criteria:
The judges will be looking for evidence to support your entry in the following areas:
- Entrants/Nominees must demonstrate strong technical ability.
- Evidence of best practice and implementation
- Evidence of incorporating any relevant research development for improving the playing surface.
- Evidence of applied innovation – how this has been applied and had an impact on the playing surface, team and/or project.
- Evidence of best use of machinery available when tending to surface.
- Evidence of continual development, learning and implementation for staff (including training and mental health & wellbeing).
