The ‘Newcomer of the Year’ award recognises talented new groundspeople and/or industry individuals who have demonstrated exceptional attitude, performance, and progress since joining the sector. The award celebrates those who provide our industry with fresh perspectives, energy, and insight.

Who should enter?

This award is open to any professional groundsperson or volunteer groundsperson, as well those who work ‘off-the pitch’ such as researchers, manufacturers, sales representatives, and developers, who have entered the grounds care industry within the past three years. This award entry can be completed with the assistance of an employer, or manager.

Entry / Nomination criteria:

Individuals can enter or be nominated by an employer, manager or third-party.

Judging Criteria:

The judges will be looking for evidence to support your entry in the following areas:

• Evidence of demonstrating exemplary performance in their field of expertise, standing out from their peers.
• Achieved a high level of progression and are inspiring others within their field.
• Evidence of their accomplishments and contribution to their team, business, club etc. and the resulting impact.
• Evidence of thoughtful engagement with colleagues, companies, clients and/or partner organisations they work with.
