This award recognises the best managed artificial playing surface across the UK, including third generation, sand-filled and water-based surfaces across all sports.
Who can enter?
This award is open to individuals and teams who apply essential maintenance work to effectively manage a non-turf/artificial grass pitch surface to enable frequency of use to the desired standard in line with the requirements of leagues/levels that play on the surface. The award is judged taking into account the 12 months prior to the award category application submission date.
Entry / Nomination criteria:
Individuals and/or teams can enter or be nominated by an employer or manager or third-party.
Judging Criteria:
The judges will be looking for evidence to support your entry in the following areas:
- Evidence of ratio of maintenance vs playing hours.
- Evidence of implementing best practice maintenance procedures to enable frequency of use to the desired standard, in line with the requirements of leagues/levels that play on the surface.
- Evidence of implementing best practice to mitigate environmental impact.
- Evidence of certification for community and/or professional use (if applicable).
